Born on July 30, 1973, in Faridabad, Haryana, India, he developed a passion for music at a very young age and began performing on stage with his father, Agam Kumar Nigam. He started his professional singing journey in the early 1990s and gained recognition with songs like Accha Sila Diya from Bewafa Sanam (1995). His breakthrough came with the title track of Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), which established him as one of the leading voices in Bollywood playback singing.
