Kapil Sharma is one of India’s most popular comedians, television hosts, actors, and producers, widely known for his exceptional comic timing and his ability to connect with audiences. Born on April 2, 1981, in Amritsar, Punjab, India, he developed an interest in performing arts during his college years and began his journey through theatre and comedy.

Kapil gained nationwide recognition after winning the comedy reality show The Great Indian Laughter Challenge Season 3 in 2007. His success continued with Comedy Circus, where he won multiple seasons and established himself as one of the leading comedians in India.

Kapil Sharma is an Indian stand-up comedian, TV anchor and singer.He was selected among top 100 celebrities in 2013 Forbes India magazines and he was ranked 96th in that list. Currently he hosts The Kapil Sharma Show.[2] He also hosted television comedy shows like Comedy Nights with Kapil, The Kapil Sharma Show, Family Time with Kapil, Chhote Miyan and Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 6 on Colors. In 2009, he joined the comedy reality show Hans Baliye as a wild card entry.He also won comedy series Comedy Circus Ke Superstars.At CNN-IBN Indian of the Year awards, Sharma was felicitated with Entertainer of the Year award for 2013 by Amol Palekar.In 2014 Lok Sabha Election, he was declared the Brand Ambassador by Delhi election commission.He was to make his film debut with Yashraj film's Bank Chor, but the comedian opted out of it.He is going feature as a first guest on the opening episode of the famous Indian television game show Kaun Banega Crorepati Season 8 on the 2nd of August. • His filmography is often confused with another actor named Kapil Sharma, who is the brother of filmmaker Anil Sharma.

• In 2007, Kapil Sharma was rejected during the Amritsar auditions of The Great Indian Laughter Challenge. He tried again at the New Delhi auditions, got selected, and went on to win the competition.

• Stand-up comedy was not his original career choice; Kapil was always more interested in music and wanted to pursue it professionally.

• He was named after legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev following India's Cricket World Cup victory in 1983.

• His first salary was ₹1,500, which he earned while working at a printing mill.

• Made his official Bollywood debut as a lead actor with Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon (2015).
